Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery

How it works

MVHR helps to create a healthy and clean indoor air environment while reducing household energy consumption. ​MVHR efficiently combines supply and extract ventilation into one centralised system. Warm stale moist air is extracted from the wet rooms inside the house and travels through the ducting network, back to the heat recovery ventilation unit.

 

 

This warm air crosses paths with the cold incoming air and the heat transfer occurs between them within the MVHR unit. Fresh incoming air drawn from the outside is filtered as an added benefit, pre-warmed via the heat exchanger and evenly distributed to the habitable rooms, thus reducing household energy consumption.

Is MVHR for me?

MVHR is a standalone ventilation system that does not require any other form of ventilation within the dwelling. It is a ventilation unit that is located within a utility room or dedicated services room and has a network of rigid or flexible ducting located within the walls and floors of the building. Ideal whole house ventilation system for new build homes with a high level of airtightness. For existing homes it is not always practical to install the full required network of ducting to service every room, making MVHR less attractive for retrofit buildings. Mechanical Extract Ventilation (MEV) may provide a more suitable option.

 

MVHR UNITS

HRXE-ZEUS

The HRXE-ZEUS models have been designed with opposite handed unit with 100% bypass and integral humidistat, as listed on the SAP Product Characteristics Database (PCDB). The HRXE-ZEUS range operate by continuously extracting moisture laden air from wet rooms within the property whilst simultaneously drawing in fresh, filtered supply air from outside. The heat from the extracted stale air is recovered via a heat exchanger inside the heat recovery unit which becomes tempered and filtered before supplied into the habitable rooms, creating comfortable and well ventilated homes.

HRXE-AURA

The HRXE-AURA models have been designed with 100% automatic bypass, as listed on the SAP Products Characteristics Database (PCDB). The HRXE-HERA range operate by continuously extracting moisture laden air from wet rooms within the property whilst simultaneously drawing in fresh, filtered supply air from outside. The heat from the extracted stale air is recovered via a heat exchanger inside the heat recovery unit which becomes tempered and filtered before supplied into the habitable rooms, creating comfortable and well ventilated homes.
